Fausto Bertinotti, the chairman of the Chamber of Deputies, in the Hall of the Palace Refectory of the seminary he will inaugurate tomorrow, 1st of April 2008, at 5 pm the exhibition: "Faïence. Hundred years of the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza. " Organized by the Chamber with the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza, the exhibition falls on the centenary of Torricelliana Faenza, 1908, the third centenary of the birth of Evangelista Torricelli, which coincided with the founding of the Museum.
The inauguration will be 'preceded, at 12:30 pm in the same place, from a press conference of the Chamber of Quaestor, Gabriele Albonetti, and the director of the museum, Jadranka Bentini.
The works will be exhibited to the public on the premises of the Library of the House from April 2 to May 30 (with free admission from Via del Seminario 76, Rome) with the following schedule 10 am -6 pm Monday to Friday, and on Saturday from 10 am to 12:30 pm. Closed Sunday.
On show about 150 masterpieces of ceramics, from the XV to the twenty-first century, as well as a sampling of tiles, selected in the rich collection of the museum, the famous "Bell Faenza" to the works of Matisse, Fontana, Picasso and contemporary artists renowned undisputed. Also available in a catalogue of 350 pages, full of color images, texts and critical equipment, published by Allemandi.
The initiative will be 'made with the support of four companies: the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Ravenna, Enel, the Sacmi and Unipol.
