 History: The Maye Castle was built in 1883 by the architect on a plot Toutain Park Castle Clagny (major buildings constructed at the request of Louis XIV as Mansart plans and drawings for Le Notre gardens; given to Madame de Montespan in 1685 and then delivered to the demolition in 1769). Its successive owners were Alexandre Lange, banker, and Admiral Serre, and Ms. Jean Dupuis owner of the newspaper illustrated «The Excelsior. In 1937, the castle was inhabited by the Duke and Duchess of Windsor after his abdication from the throne of England. Subsequently, the King Zog and Queen Geraldine of Albania, then in exile, who chose to live La Maye. During the Second World War the castle was alternately HQ German and American. The castle was then occupied until 1954 by a school social workers to Israel, funded by the American Joint Committee.
